It couples a 5mm Light Dependent Resistor (photoresistor) with an onboard LM393 voltage comparator circuit. Operating on a photoconductivity principle, the LDR’s internal resistance drops sharply when exposed to brightness and rises exponentially in total darkness, allowing developers to automate systems based on day-and-night cycles.
